“I’m Saige,” the redhead introduced herself.

“Rainer’s niece?” I confirmed, even though I already knew.

“Yes, but don’t hold it against me.” She smiled and waved for me to join them. “The plan was for you to stay in one of the rooms in Rainer’s house, but I have a feeling you might not love that idea at the moment.”

For the first time all day, I smiled. “You picked up on that?”

“Trust me, I’d love to tell Jett and his pack to fuck right off, so that part makes complete sense to me, but why are you mad at the other two?” Hannah asked.

“They kidnapped me.” I didn’t bother beating around the bush. These two seemed to appreciate my bluntness already.

Saige stopped. “What?”

“Yeah, when Tracker picked me up from school today, he didn’t say a word, didn’t warn me, let alone ask if I wanted to come. He just packed up our things from the hotel while I was taking my final and drove us here.”

“What an ass,” Hannah mumbled, but Saige looked furious.

“How dare they!” She started to walk back toward the road, but I stopped her.

“I don’t want to deal with them right now. Can you just show me where I’m staying?”

Saige spoke through gritted teeth. “Well, unlike my uncle, I don’t believe in forcing anyone to do anything, so I’ll give you the options. I have an extra room in my house. You’d be living with me and my four mates and my daughter. She is sleep trained, so she doesn’t cry all night.”

“Lucky,” Hannah shot her a teasing glare.

“Or you can stay with my aunt Masie and her boyfriend, Rodney. Although, just a warning, Rodney is also my uncle, Rainer’s brother. I’m sure he’d keep Rainer out after we tell him what happened, but I wanted you to know just in case.”

I held up a hand. “Your aunt is dating your uncle?”

“Mom’s sister and dad’s brother. Yeah, it’s odd, but not incestuous.”

Hannah nodded. “They’re great, but if you don’t like either of those options, there are new homes that only have one or two people living in them.”

“They’d be strangers?” I asked.

“Yeah, we’d be sure to find one with only women if you’d prefer,” Hannah offered.

I turned to Saige. “If you won’t mind, can I stay with you?”

“Of course!” She beamed.

We changed directions, passing behind two large buildings and one house before we climbed the few steps to a modest two-story home. The second she opened the door, I heard voices. A lot of them.

Then crying.

“We were gone for less than ten minutes.” Hannah dropped her head back before marching down the hall.

“It’s not too late to change your mind,” Saige teased.

She might think the noise would scare me off, but I was drawn in. This home was lived in. I could feel the love already. Sure, there was crying, but there were also soothing voices. And laughter. Commotion, yes, but there was a family here. I could feel it.

“I’m good,” I responded.

Saige smiled before leading me toward the chaos.
